Sara Idleman Leaves Race and Endorses Tedra
Tedra Cobb was the clear winner at Thursday evening’s Fulton County Democrats Forum, where nearly 200 voters gathered to hear from the candidates. Her passion, experience and understanding of the people of the NY21st delivered the straw poll win and the support of another candidate leaving the crowded race.
“I am here tonight to ask you – as you consider who you will support in this race – to turn away from the illusion of celebrity and money and return to the real principles our Party stands for,” said Sara Idleman. “I call on you to support a candidate who shares those principles and who has the qualities we hope for in our public servants, Tedra Cobb. I know Tedra can and will win this nomination. She can and will beat Elise Stefanik and bring the grassroots voice of NY 21 to Washington.”
“Today more than ever we need compassion and competent government,” said Tedra. “This is my home. I have served the families and businesses of the North Country tirelessly for 30 years, for better healthcare, education, good government. I am and will be accountable and accessible, always! This campaign is about who will best serve the women and men, families and workers of Northern NY. It’s about our neighbors whose wages and economic prospects have stalled while Elise Stefanik has been in Washington. And, it’s about electing someone who knows them, who understands their issues first hand; who knows from experience how to effectively work with and for them – across political views. I am humbled by the tremendous support I have from across this district, and for the support of Sara Idleman, a strong, compassionate public servant who has decided to honor me with her endorsement.”
