CONG. STEFANIK AGAIN VOTES TO RIP HEALTHCARE AWAY FROM 64,000 NORTHERN NEW YORKERS
GUT PROTECTIONS FOR PEOPLE WITH PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS AND RAISE HEALTHCARE COSTS
Canton —Last night Cong. Stefanik continued her assault on healthcare by voting to spend taxpayer dollars to fund a lawsuit that would strip tens of thousands of her constituents of their healthcare, eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions and raise healthcare costs for every Northern New Yorker.
“Let me be clear, I don’t support spending taxpayer dollars to try to take healthcare away from families, said Cobb. “The differences between us couldn’t be more clear. I have spent 30 years in this district helping connect people with access to quality, affordable healthcare. Meanwhile Cong. Stefanik has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from the insurance and pharmaceutical companies while voting their way to raise the cost of our healthcare and prescription drugs.”
In January, Cong. Stefanik voted to back the lawsuit with her vote, and just last month, she voted against helping families struggling with addiction.
“Many families, including my own, depend on the Affordable Care Act to provide them with the coverage they need to survive,” said Cobb. “Cong. Stefanik might say that she supports lowering prescription drug costs and protecting people with pre-existing conditions but her voting record tells another story. She either doesn’t understand the impact these votes have on our families and our economy or she simply doesn’t care.”
