Candidates meet in League of Women Voter forums

This story was updated to indicate that U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik declined participation in the League of Women Voters candidates forum in Lake George.

LAKE GEORGE – Challengers to U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Willsboro, Democrat Tedra Cobb and Green Party pick Lynn Kahn, will square off in a League of Women Voters of Saratoga County candidate forum.

The two seeking to unseat Stefanik for the 21st Congressional District seat will answer audience questions posed by a moderator at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Lake George Junior-Senior High School Auditorium, 381 Canada Street.

Stefanik declined to attend.

The public event will be preceded by another candidate forum featuring those running for state Senate District 43 and Assembly District 113.

That event, set for 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Saratoga Town Hall, 12 Spring St., Schuylerville, will include Democrat Aaron Gladd and Republican Daphne A. Jordan, running for the Senate seat, and Assembly incumbent Carrie Woerner, D-Round Lake, and her challenger Republican Morgan Zegers.
