Candidate forum offers closer look at challengers

SARATOGA SPRINGS — The seven NY-21 Democratic congressional candidates hoping to unseat incumbent Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Willsboro, in the November mid-term election gathered on Thursday night for a two-hour unconventional forum, highlighting their strengths and how they plan to win.

“Elise Stefanik isn’t here, everyone knows it. She’s suddenly present in this district, everyone sees that, too. We have to continue to reach out to Democrats, Republicans and independents because this is a purple district,” said challenger Tedra Cobb, Canton, during the forum. “We deserve, we have a right to a representative who understands where we live; who understands our challenges and who understands our opportunities and will fight for them. That’s how I plan to run and that’s how I plan to win with integrity and with grit.”
