NY-21 Congressional candidate Tedra Cobb will observe Earth Day – Sunday, April 22 – at two community celebrations. The Canton-based candidate will be at the Buckets & Trash & Beer, Oh My! Earth Day cleanup loop around the Oval in Plattsburgh from 11 a.m. to noon. From 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. she will be at Saranac Lake’s Earth Day Celebration in the Harrietstown Town Hall.
“Earth Day gives us all a chance to celebrate this amazing planet we live on and our resource-rich corner of it. It offers us a day to reflect on ways we can and should work together to ensure its protection,” says the NY-21 candidate, who has been traveling around the district hearing from residents about their concerns and ideas. “Protecting the environment is essential for our planet, our region, our health and our economy.”
Environmental awareness and protection are personal to Cobb, who with her family lives off the grid, powers their home with solar panels, and drives a hybrid electric car. “I am committed to protecting the environment, for moral, aesthetic, health, and economic reasons.”
“NY-21 is not only a place of staggering beauty – its natural resources form the very basis of many of our livelihoods.” Cobb knows that the environment is not a luxury for the farmers, families, and small businesses in northern New York that depend on pristine natural resources. “I will fight to protect constituents from pollution, over-development, and neglect.”
