ELISE STEFANIK DID NOTHING

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Contact: Press@tedracobb.com CANTON—Tuesday, former volunteer firefighter, healthcare advocate, and Congressional candidate Tedra Cobb released a new ad titled ‘Did Nothing.’  The ad highlights Elise Stefanik’s failure to protect American troops from increased Russian aggression and  to do one of the most basic acts required of her: to show up at Intelligence Committee hearings. “It’s been months since we learned that Russia offered the Taliban bounties for the lives of US troops in Afghanistan,” said Cobb. “In that time, Elise Stefanik stopped showing up for Intelligence Committee meetings, leaving Fort Drum soldiers without representation on important matters of national security.” New York’s 21st district is home to Fort Drum and has the highest number of veterans per capita …

STEFANIK TAKES FIGHT TO END PROTECTIONS FOR PEOPLE WITH PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS TO THE SUPREME COURT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CONTACT: press@tedracobb.com Canton—Less than 24 hours after the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elise Stefanik embraced President Trump and Sen. Mitch McConnell’s plan to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat ahead of the November election. Elise Stefanik and Republicans in Congress have been trying for a decade to dismantle the Affordable Care Act and eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions. Now, they are taking that fight to the Supreme Court. “The day Elise Stefanik voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act and throw 64,000 Northern New Yorkers off their healthcare, is the day I decided to run,” said Cobb. “Elise Stefanik and Donald Trump will stop at nothing to destroy protections for millions …

TOP STEFANIK DONOR FACES LAWSUIT FOR THEIR ROLE IN OPIOID CRISIS

Johnson & Johnson accused of violating New York State insurance law Canton —Thursday, The New York State Dept. of Financial Services announced a civil lawsuit against opioid manufacturer and top Stefanik donor Johnson & Johnson. The suit accuses the pharma giant of downplaying the dangers of the opioids they produce. New York is seeking $2 billion in damages from Johnson & Johnson’s targeted scheme directed at doctors and seniors. This isn’t the first time Johnson & Johnson has landed in hot water over their role in the opioid epidemic. In 2019 an Oklahoma judge  ruled that Johnson & Johnson recklessly marketed opioids to healthcare professionals and ordered them to pay $572 million. Lifetime, Elise Stefanik has accepted over $50,000 from …

ELISE STEFANIK SUPPORTS PREDATORY LENDERS OVER OUR HEROES

VOTED THREE TIMES AGAINST PROTECTING VETERANS AND SERVICEMEMBERS FROM PREDATORY LENDERS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: press@tedracobb.com CANTON — Elise Stefanik remains silent on Russian bounties against American soldiers–but her disregard and disrespect for our service members and veterans began before President Trump took office. On three occasions, Elise Stefanik chose to protect her Wall Street donors over North Country veterans. In October of 2015, Stefanik voted against a motion to protect servicemembers from taking predatory lenders to court. In April of that year, she voted against prohibiting individuals or companies convicted of predatory lending or fraud against veterans or servicemembers from serving on Consumer Finance Protection Bureau boards.  In November of 2015, Stefanik voted against protecting veterans and service members’ …

IN LIGHT OF NEW REVELATIONS, COBB CALLS ON STEFANIK TO STEP DOWN FROM TRUMP CAMPAIGN

IN LIGHT OF NEW REVELATIONS, COBB CALLS ON STEFANIK TO STEP DOWN FROM TRUMP CAMPAIGN “Her continued participation in the campaign…is simply unconscionable.” March 19, Donald Trump to Bob Woodward: “To be honest with you, I wanted to always play it down. I still like playing it down, because I don’t want to create a panic.” March 19: 4,152 cases of COVID-19 reported in New York State, 38 deaths. On the very same day that New York state reported 4,152 cases of coronavirus and 38 deaths, and one day before the state shut down, Donald Trump was recorded telling reporter Bob Woodward that when it came to informing the American people of the seriousness of this virus, he liked “playing …

STEFANIK FAILS TO PROTECT US TROOPS FROM RUSSIAN AGGRESSION

CANTON—Wednesday, Politico reports that four US service members have been injured in a confrontation with Russian forces in Eastern Syria. The Pentagon has confirmed these reports after videos of the skirmish appeared on social media. This tragic news comes 61 days after The New York Times broke the news that Russia paid the Taliban bounties to kill US and allied soldiers in Afghanistan– and 56 days after we learned that Elise Stefanik has skipped months of House Intelligence Committee hearings — six meetings in all. “The increase in Russian aggression toward US forces in the Middle East is a direct result of Elise Stefanik’s failed leadership,” said Cobb. “Not only has Stefanik skipped months of important hearings, she has refused …

STEFANIK NOT SHOWING UP FOR WORK; REFUSES TO STAND UP FOR OUR TROOPS AFTER INTELLIGENCE REPORTS OF RUSSIAN BOUNTY  CANTON—On Friday, the New York Times reported that Russia paid the Taliban bounties to kill US and allied soldiers in Afghanistan. Since the initial reporting by The Times, The Washington Post and Republican lawmakers have confirmed the existence of this intelligence dating back to early 2019. Multiple intelligence sources confirm that this information was included in the president’s daily briefing book in February of this year. Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers, including Cong. Elise Stefanik refused to attend House Intelligence Committee briefings for months. “This is an incredibly important matter of national security,” said Cobb. “Not only is Elise Stefanik absent from the …

NEW YORK STATE NURSES ASSOCIATION ENDORSES TEDRA COBB CANTON—Healthcare advocate, former St. Lawrence County Legislator, and Congressional candidate Tedra Cobb has secured the endorsement of The New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA). With over 42,000 members, NYSNA is New York’s largest union and professional association for nurses. “I am proud to have received the endorsement of NYSNA and look forward to representing their members in Congress,” said Cobb. “I have spent 30 years in this community fighting for access to quality, affordable healthcare. Meanwhile, in Washington, Elise Stefanik has spent her career voting repeatedly to kick 64,000 Northern New Yorkers off their insurance, to raise the cost of prescription drugs, and to gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions. STATEMENT FROM CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE TEDRA COBB ON THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE 10TH MOUNTAIN DIVISION TO POLICE AMERICAN CITIES

CANTON—FMR. NYS corrections counselor, healthcare advocate and Democratic Congressional candidate Tedra Cobb joins with NY-21 Veterans in condemnation of the use of 10th Mountain Division soldiers, or any members of the US military to police the streets of American cities. Today, Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Fmr. Deputy Under Secretary James Miller each issued statements opposing the president’s dangerous choice to invoke the Insurrection Act.   “Policing American streets isn’t the job these brave men and women signed up to do. This isn’t the service they want to render for this country,” said Cobb. “The 10th Mountain division is the most deployed division in the Army, they fight everyday to secure our freedoms and they are uniquely qualified to carry out …

STEFANIK KEEPS STEVE WYNN CASH COMPARES HASHTAG TO SEXUAL ASSAULT

CANTON—Congressional Candidate Tedra Cobb yesterday, called on Cong. Elise Stefanik to return contributions from casino mogul Steve Wynn, who is accused of multiple egregious acts of sexual assault and harassment. Instead of returning the funds like many other prominent Republicans, Stefanik doubled down, comparing sexual assault to a mean Twitter hashtag. These allegations were first reported by the Wall Street Journal and caused the Nevada Gaming Control Board to launch an investigation and the RNC to force Wynn to resign as Finance Chair. Wynn’s own shareholders have filed lawsuits because of his horrific actions.  “Stefanik is comparing being called a mean name on Twitter – an act which we immediately denounced – to disturbing, serious and credible accusations of rape, …

PRESIDENT TRUMP TAKES STEFANIK’S LEAD ON MEDICARE

PRESIDENT TRUMP TAKES STEFANIK’S LEAD ON MEDICARE CUTS Canton —This week President Trump announced he is willing to cut earned-benefit programs like Medicare, taking the lead from Elise Stefanik who has repeatedly supported cutting the program by hundreds of billions. In her 2014 campaign, Elise Stefanik claimed she would “protect and preserve” the program. When pressed for details, Stefanik famously walked off camera. Since then, Stefanik has voted for hundreds of billions in cuts, to raise the retirement age, and to turn Medicare into a voucher system, all the while taking money from those in the health care industry who would benefit most. Stefanik on Medicare: In 2012, she served as the chair for the Republican Platform Committee where she …

Statement on WhistleBlower Complaint

CANTON—“After today’s hearing, it is clear that we need a full investigation into the whistleblower complaint to understand the scope of the President’s and his Administration’s interactions with Ukraine,” said Cobb. “This is a constitutional crisis, and I applaud Republicans and Democrats who are taking their duty to the country seriously and making the Constitution and our national security their first priority. Unfortunately, Elise Stefanik, is not one of them. Congresswoman Stefanik’s responsibility, especially as a member of the Intelligence Committee, is to the law and to her constituents. But, instead of carefully looking at the facts, Stefanik is raising money off of this crisis and within minutes of seeing the whistleblower’s report, began repeating White House-approved talking points. Congresswoman …
