STEFANIK CONTRIBUTOR ORDERED TO PAY $572 MILLION FOR ROLE IN OPIOID EPIDEMIC

Canton — Yesterday, an Oklahoma judge  ruled that Johnson & Johnson, an opioid maker, and contributor to Cong. Elise Stefanik, recklessly marketed opioids to healthcare professionals and ordered them to pay $572 Million. Stefanik has taken $45,500 from opioid manufacturers and distributors and has repeatedly voted their way. Just in May, she voted against combating opioid addiction. And she has voted dozens of times to gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions, including substance abuse disorders. Tedra Cobb, healthcare advocate and former volunteer firefighter, is calling on Rep. Stefanik to immediately return campaign funds from any company under investigation in the opioid crisis, including Johnson & Johnson. “Families in Northern New York are struggling to combat addiction and are desperate …

Stefanik’s attempts to destroy Social Security started before her time in Congress; in 2012 she supported privatizing the program.  Stefanik has accepted over $600,000 of corporate PAC money to her campaign from the financial industry. CONG. STEFANIK FAVORS WALL STREET DONORS OVER RETIREES

Canton —On the 84th anniversary of the passage of Social Security, Congressional candidate Tedra Cobb is promising to oppose any attempt to cut or privatize it, contrasting herself with Cong. Stefanik. Although over 170,000 people rely on Social Security in NY-21, Stefanik has voted to cut Social Security and supports privatizing it to benefit her Wall Street donors: Cong. Stefank’s attempts to destroy Social Security started before her time in Congress; in 2012 she supported privatizing the program.  Stefanik has accepted over $600,000 of corporate PAC money to her campaign from the financial industry. ON ANNIVERSARY OF MEDICARE, COBB CAMPAIGN CALLS ON STEFANIK TO CLARIFY MEDICARE POSITION

Despite promising to “preserve and protect,” Congresswoman Stefanik has repeatedly  voted to dismantle program Canton —On the 54th anniversary of Medicare, Tedra Cobb’s campaign is calling on Cong. Stefanik to explain how she plans to “preserve and protect” Medicare while simultaneously voting to decimate it. In her 2014 campaign, Elise Stefanik claimed she would “preserve and protect” the program while also raising the retirement age. When pressed for details, Stefanik famously walked off camera. Since then, Stefanik has voted for trillions in cuts, to raise the retirement age, and to turn Medicare into a voucher system, all the while taking money from those in the health care industry who would benefit most: In 2015, Stefanik voted to turn Medicare into …

ACCEPTS CONTRIBUTION FROM PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY WHO EXPLOITED CANCER PATIENTS IN ILLEGAL MEDICARE KICKBACK SCHEME Canton — Cong. Stefanik gladly accepted a contribution from Amgen two months after the pharmaceutical giant paid a $125M settlement to the U.S. Dept. of Justice for creating an illegal Medicare kick-back scheme. “People are sick of the corruption in Washington,” said Cobb. “I have spent 30 years connecting people to quality, affordable healthcare and passing legislation to lower the cost of prescription drugs for our seniors. Stefanik’s Lawsuit to Gut Protections for Pre-existing conditions and Kick Tens of Thousands of Northern New Yorkers off of Their Health Care to be Heard in Court Today

Canton —Today a tax-payer funded lawsuit supported by Cong. Stefanik is being heard in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. I have spent 30 years in this district helping connect people to quality, affordable healthcare, the same people Congresswoman Stefanik is trying to take it away from today,” said Cobb. “She has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from the insurance and  pharmaceutical companies while voting their way to raise the cost of our …
