Conducting Successful Performance Reviews Through
Goal Setting and Performance Management

 

Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

  • Identify the purpose of the Performance Evaluation in setting performance standards, goals and managing performance
  • Describe barriers to successful Performance Evaluations
  • Become aware of the steps to a successful Performance Evaluation
  • Prepare for a Performance Evaluation session
  • Assess individual communication styles and recognize supportive communication techniques and their role in the evaluation session and in managing day to day performance
  • Identify strategies for managing performance throughout the year leading to successful future evaluations

Outcomes:

Skills learned include: setting standards and goal setting, performance management, active listening, nonverbal and verbal communication, communicating productively, giving and receiving feedback, coaching, and motivational techniques.

 

 

Through personal assessment and analysis, lecture, practice, and discussion, participants will learn how to conduct a successful performance review and goal setting session within the larger context of daily performance management.
