Developing and Writing Successful Grant Proposals

 

Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

  • Review steps to prepare their organization for funding opportunities before the writing even begins
  • Identify potential sources of funding and recognize the importance of matching a potential project with the appropriate funding source
  • Analyze application guidelines and rules for local, state and federal grants
  • Examine grant proposal elements including needs statements, goal statements, objectives, evaluation plans, timelines, sustainability and dissemination plans
  • Practice formulating needs statements, goals, objectives, evaluation strategies, budgets and dissemination plans
  • Review elements of writing to give the proposal the competitive advantage
  • Receive valuable feedback from both the trainer and their peers

Outcomes:

Skills learned include: identifying community collaborators, finding appropriate funding sources, deciphering funding application rules and formulating grant proposal elements.

 


Through analysis, lecture, activities, and discussion, participants will learn how to effectively identify funding opportunities and develop grant proposals.
